CODE 93

Coste is a police captain with the Serious Crime Division of the SDPJ 93, the Detective Department of Seine-Saint-Denis (the 93rd distric of France, bordering Paris to the north). For fifteen years, he has chosen to work in the capital's suburbs, delving into cases of routine violence and gratuitous felony.

A series of strange discoveries-a corpse who wakes up in th emorgue, a junkie who seems to have spontaneously burnt to death, etc.- suggest thaht this time, his investigation will take him far beyond the limits of the usual cases in his area.

Anonymous letters addressed to him personally lead him into particularly lethal situations...

Whitten by a police lieutenant, Code 93 is a remakably realistic novel that draws on all its author's exeprience. Its giddying plunge into a world where urban planning goes hand in hand with criminal corruption in political and financial circles leaves us stunned.

Olivier Norek, lieutenant in the investigations department of the SDPJ 93 (a Paris-based wing of the French gendarmerie). Code 93 is his debut novel, widely acclaimed by the press.
